I'm Mengting Jiang, a passionate design student hailing from the picturesque city of Chuzhou in southeastern China. Since my early years, I have been captivated by the intricate composition of things, drawing inspiration from the remarkable Huipaijianzhu tradition of residential architecture prevalent in my hometown. This unique architectural style seamlessly integrates natural elements such as light, wind, and rain into the built environment, fostering a harmonious interaction between inhabitants and nature.

Motivated by this profound connection between architecture and the natural world, I embarked on a career path rooted in the realm of architectural design. My ultimate goal is to make a difference in the modern urban landscape by infusing architectural projects with a stronger synergy between human habitation and the environment. Through my work, I aspire to create spaces that coexist harmoniously with nature, enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities alike.

My journey began at a university in Beijing, China, where I pursued my architectural studies for half a year. However, I soon realized that I needed to broaden my horizons and immerse myself in diverse perspectives and experiences. Fuelled by an adventurous spirit, I made the courageous decision to embark on a new chapter in my life at the age of 18. I set my sights on Melbourne, Australia, and ventured into the unknown, eager to explore fresh insights and embrace new cultural landscapes.

Currently, I am in the final year of my Bachelor of Design program at the University of Melbourne, double-majoring in architecture and construction. Throughout my academic journey and personal life, I have discovered another avenue of creative expression: photography. This captivating art form allows me to document the world around me, serving as a powerful tool to capture life's fleeting moments. Each decision I make behind the lens not only reflects my personality but also deepens my understanding of self.
